VLC is ten!
The popular and really powerful media player VLC is ten years old! I warmly congratulate the team for the steady development of the VLC player on all of these years. VLC was and is next to the Mozilla browsers, a faithful companion on all my systems. Thanks to VLC I can play without a lot of codecs and proprietary frickeling players as good as anything in music and videos. No matter what system, no matter the OS. I am pleased that the development does not break down and VLC constant care and is supplied with new features. Keep it up!View
The people behind VLC
Are organized under the Non-profit organization VideoLAN. VideoLAN welcomes donations and is worried about that VLC can be further developed. This includes the purchase of multimedia equipment for testing and development work, the operation of the VideoLAN Server and services, and travel to events like FOSDEM, Linux Expo and Co. So, if you want to donate, then you can via the Paypal and by arrangement do a bank transfer.
I chose the income of the next 30 days that I get through Google Adsense, to donate to VLC. Usually, the so-€ 30-40. Who wants to support me, who can even turn off for the next four weeks time his ad blocker. So come along perhaps a few euros more.
Linux users can install VLC normally easily accessible via the repositories of your distro. Who would have recourse under the current Ubuntu version that can install VLC via the PPA from Ferramosca Roberto, therefore you are in terms of VLC always up to date …
