    Twitter with TweetDeck for Chrome

    Filed under: World;

    As much as I The microblogging client Gwibber and Hotot may seem, I can not always ignore the weaknesses of the two programs, unfortunately. Gwibber moves when reading new messages, so much performance that is weaker on my netbook like to slow down the entire desktop. Hotot is frugal as well, but you can use with the program still only either Twitter or Identi.ca. An alternative would be the TweetDeck Adobe AIR program. With a little elbow lard can also talk it over with Identi.ca to work, but I do not like to install the AIR runtime. Then come with the Chrome TweetDeck Located right.

    Chrome TweetDeck is an app for Google's Chrome browser. You can install on your web store. Optionally you can also add a button on the browser bar to add an extension. After installation, you can find the app listed on your home page. Click to open the TweetDeck in a new tab

    TweetDeck does not feel like a real website, but rather as an application. Somehow reminds me of the whole Hotot is no wonder, as well as the surface is characterized Hotot website. The integration into the Linux desktop is not quite as sparkling. So there are, for example, no entry in the Start menu, but this can get over is actually good, because – so it goes at least to me -. Anyway always one browser window is open It also provides notification when new messages arrive, which although not on the notification system of GNOME or KDE draw.

    Also be without one until now still on support for Identi.ca. The AIR App, you can change this by hand as I said yes, but in TweetDeck for Chrome is not yet so far. A similar feature request is already present. Let's see how this thing evolved, but as soon as the support for Identi.ca implemented, there is definitely another alternative to Gwibber. For more information and screenshots can be found in numerous blog from TweetDeck.
