    Control with webkey Android phones via the browser

    Filed under: Coutry;

    Methods to control an Android phone from the desktop or to create screenshots of the current device, there are now a dime a dozen. One of the most expensive way is certainly AndroidScreencast, so you can even – create – present somewhat jerky screencasts. Easier and more convenient, however, is Android webkey.With this small server your Rooted Android phones you can easily use the browser and create screenshots of course.

    Webkey can install on your market. A QR code can be found in this post, otherwise you will certainly bring a further search in the Market. The only requirement for the program is that you can gain root access on your device. After installation, you will find the program as usual menu. The interface is simple, has few buttons you can set up and start the service.

    Most sense makes the use of webkey over a wireless network, but actually the whole thing should work well over a 3G connection. For me, however, seems to block O2 on the phone for incoming connections. Optionally, can also sync with webkey DynDNS.com, so your phone always reach your firm at an address.

    Can then open your IP phones in your browser. The credentials are the head of the webkey frontends. The password is regenerated every time you start the application, so that third parties will prevent access can get on your device.

    In front you can not just the current screen view of your Android device, you can also click on the display, although the reaction time is a bit sluggish. In the other tabs you can click on the current GPS position to access, manage SMS text messages or via a Java applet, the data on the SD card of the phone.

    I personally think

    Webkey really convenient to create screenshots of applications. Instead of looking in the file system long after the pictures of a screen capture tool, I can save the images directly from the browser.
