    Filed under: World;

    Anyone in Germany who uses the WordPress Stats, must know that the service in the Critique of privacy advocates is or was. The reason for the decision of Automattic, the company of WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg, additional scripts in the stats plugin was installed to transmit the data to the company Qantcast, which among other things, created personal profiles of web surfers.The blogger and Web developers Frank Goossens was therefore designed with DoNotTrack a WordPress addon that filters out the tracking code, so that again only the page views are counted. The plugin is now under a new name recently DoNotTrack WP and with new functions in the plugin directory of WordPress.

    Until now you had to

    The addon manually as. zip file and manually install because it was not plug-in directory of WordPress. With the revision of the plugin but that is history, it can now be quite as usual under the new name of extend.wordpress.org WP DoNotTrack download or install the plugin in the WordPress administration backend.

    Who

    The plugin still in use as DoNotTrack has, it must disable the uninstall / reinstall and then WP DoNotTrack from the plugin manager. Since this is a new plugin and for the purposes of the plugin directory is not an update, you will not be drawn to the novelty.

    The new version can either turn off the tracking completely by Qantcast or the Do Not Track evaluate configuration of the browser and the web surfer's privacy notice accordingly.

    Addition, there are two different modes of operation. The Black List scripts explicitly blocks certain sources, the whitelist can however specify which sources may not alter the DOM. Thus, one can specifically shut out those trackers, however, requires the maintenance of the whitelist more knowledge.
