    Sound on the HP touchpad with the launch PulseAudio restart

    Filed under: Interesting;

    Among the handsome exterior of the HP touchpad with its WebOS operating system such as potters certainly some people already know, a Linux kernel with a full Linux architecture. Udev, Upstart, PulseAudio are all services, as we know them from a Linux system ago. As with many Linux distributions also come with PulseAudio sound server to use as a touchpad.The service is responsible for ensuring that the sounds of the individual applications are collected and can be played together mixed. This allows more than one program while playing sounds or music on the touchpad.

    Now there is a problem with WebOS with PulseAudio, the service seems to hang sporadically, so that no more sounds are played. I do not own it already happened a few times, that absolutely no sound could be played anymore. Not even when changing the volume sounded the familiar “bing”. Actually, the problem could be easily fixed by restarting pulseaudio, but there is originally no terminal on the touchpad, you had to reboot the machine from scratch.

    However

    Is now in Preware a “homebrew app” appeared, one can start with the PulseAudio comfortably again. Simply just need the app to start and it happens again the sound. To install the app can, you have to install Preware on your touchpad, only then can you Preware from the “PulseAudio restarter” load on your system. The app is made not complicated, it invites new pulseaudio and then exits immediately. More so, they must not either. Hopefully there's WebOS updates that may resolve the problem “correctly”.
