Strife in the Android community around HP TouchPad
Filed under: Events;No Comments
Were In recent days there is a veritable race to the “first” full port of Android to the HP TouchPad. With the team and team TouchDroid CyanogenMod two groups independently driven ahead for Android, the TouchPad. It has recently been presented by TouchDroid support for the touchscreen multitouch including a YouTube video.Shortly after, however, appeared to code on a public pastebin, who showed that this code is derived from the CM team and had claimed that TouchDroid this work for themselves. There was a brief controversy and TouchDroid team broke up then. Well then, is “only” in the race for a port CyanogenMod, certainly not the worst candidate for a successful action.View
In a video from the CM team can see the current status. Android 2.3.x boot completely and work the touchscreen, the accelerometer, and hardware acceleration. However, it still does not give support for the WLAN module, the web pages in the video are accessed via the USB port of the pad. All in all, a considerable achievement, but just have not really usable.
The video also shows, however, that Android 2.x on a 10 inch tablet does not really make much sense. The widgets on the screen look out of place, choice menus are huge and the lockscreen does not occupy the entire display.
However correct Android
Will take off for the touchpad so only when Google merges with Android 4, the two strands of development again and the result also re-released, Android 3.x to bring on the TouchPad is unfortunately not possible for lack of sources.
